The Fountain City Teen Poetry Slam will be offering, “The Write Stuff”,a free writing/performance workshop for area youth (ages 13 - 19) on Saturday, September 15th from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM.This workshop will take place outdoors in UpTown Columbus, starting at 1200 Block Pocket Park (On Broadway between 12th and 13th/In Front of Nonic Bar+Grill). We will journey through Uptown Columbus, participating in various writing prompts along the way. We will return to 1200 Block Pocket Park by 2:30 PM for pick-up. There will be snacks served to the youth in attendance. YOU MUST RSVP BY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH TO ATTEND! SPACES ARE LIMITED!

Home Is Where The Poem Is Workshop: 
Attendees will be lead through some creative writing and performance exercises. By exploring and utilizing the imagery, smells and things that come to mind when we think of home, attendees will craft poems of their own. This workshop will serve as a dedication to the various places we have lived and called home. We will discuss voice, presentation, and writing to clearly express an idea. Students will be challenged to step outside of their everyday use of language.

Why: This program is a part of Fountain City Slam’s continued community outreach and efforts to inspire youth to utilize their creative voices to affect positive change in their communities.
