Call For Submissions!

This anthology is a celebration of the talented young people from all around the Columbus area – their poetry, essays, and short stories. All submissions must incorporate this the below theme:
The 2019 Theme: "upLIFT":
Write a piece that that uplifts an oppression literally. We literally want you to lift the covers off of injustices and abuses that are impacting communities that you care about and/or are a part of. We want you to fully explore, possibly come up with solutions for , and educate readers on these unjust happenings that you’ve noticed in your world. Your art is your activism. Write a piece that fights for or/against gender/queer liberation, decolonization, consent culture, rape culture, racism, the wage gap, police brutality youth leadership, and/or intersectionality. You are not limited to these areas by any means. Write what’s inside you begging to come out.
We encourage those looking to submit to be as creative as possible in their approach to this year’s theme. For consideration, your pieces must incorporate the theme. We will be accepting early submissions from semifinalists only at this time. We will be accepting submissions from students grades 8-12. We will accept work from graduating seniors (℅ ‘19). If your submission is selected for inclusion, you may be asked to edit your work. Editing is non-negotiable. If included, you will receive one free copy of the book.
