The Fountain City Teen Poetry Slam has experienced an exciting season of creative expression. Each summer, a special group of students take the spotlight to represent the city at the Brave New Voices conference, an international youth poetry festival. Due to the pandemic, thie festival, like many events, was cancelled.
These 7 brave and creative souls were still committed to writing, rehearsing, and performing their truths this summer. They realized that their duty as artists during this time was to serve as first responders, using their words to heal. This collective of young artists has created a show that is not only reflective of our unprecedented today, but one that will offer hope for the future. In response to the world around them, The 2020 Fountain City Poetry Slam Team would like to invite the community to come out and get a fun lesson in “Stretching the Truth”.
